We are seeking an experienced QA/QC Inspector (CWI) to support industrial and commercial construction projects with a strong emphasis on piping systems, welding quality, and mechanical equipment installations. This role is responsible for ensuring that piping fabrication, field installation, welding activities, and associated inspections meet project specifications, applicable codes, and quality standards.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with ASME B31 piping systems, welding inspections, fabrication processes, and non-destructive testing (NDT). Working closely with project teams, contractors, fabricators, and field personnel, the QA/QC Inspector will help drive quality throughout every phase of construction while ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
Quality Assurance & Inspection
Perform inspections of piping systems, mechanical equipment installations, fabrication activities, and welding operations to verify compliance with project specifications and applicable codes
Monitor field installation activities and provide oversight of subcontractor workmanship and quality practices
Conduct quality reviews of engineering drawings, specifications, procedures, and vendor documentation
Verify that materials, equipment, and fabricated components meet project and quality requirements before installation
Participate in project quality programs and maintain detailed documentation of inspections, tests, and installation activities
Review and evaluate quality records, inspection reports, and vendor documentation for completeness and compliance
Assist in identifying quality issues, non-conformances, and corrective actions to ensure project success
Support quality audits and inspections performed by clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies
Welding & Piping Quality Oversight
Inspect piping fabrication and installation activities in accordance with ASME B31 piping codes and project requirements
Verify welding procedures, welder qualifications, and welding documentation
Perform welding inspections and monitor weld quality throughout fabrication and installation
Coordinate and review non-destructive testing (NDT) activities, including interpretation of reports and findings
Ensure proper documentation of weld records, testing results, and inspection reports
Identify opportunities for process improvements related to welding, fabrication, and installation quality
Reporting & Communication
Prepare detailed inspection reports and communicate findings to project management and quality leadership
Document quality assurance activities in accordance with established procedures and project requirements
Communicate significant quality concerns, trends, or potential risks and recommend corrective actions
Collaborate with project teams, field personnel, and subcontractors to maintain quality expectations throughout the project lifecycle
Qualifications / Required Experience
Minimum of 5 years of Quality Control or Quality Assurance experience in industrial or commercial construction environment
At least 3 years of direct experience supporting:ASME B31 piping systems
Piping fabrication and installation
Welding inspection and quality control
Non-destructive testing (NDT)
Mechanical construction projects
Preferred Certifications
AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification in accordance with AWS QC-1.ICC Mechanical – Commercial Certification
Additional NDT or mechanical inspection certifications are a plus
