Position Overview:
As a Cut Shop Technician, you will be responsible for cutting metal components to precise specifications, preparing materials, and performing various shop tasks to support our production process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately perform metal cutting according to specifications and CAD drawings.
- Read and interpret measuring tools such as tape measures.
- Prepare materials through grinding and light welding work.
- Drill, tap, and countersink holes based on CAD drawing requirements.
- Perform general shop labor and mechanical assembly tasks.
- Participate in all safety training and adhere to safety protocols.
- Work in a heavy manufacturing environment.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to use and read measuring tools accurately.
- Reliable, positive, and strong work ethic with a commitment to quality and accuracy.
- Ability to interpret shop drawings, including weld symbols.
- Strong layout and math skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with hand tools and hand-held power tools.
- Ability to routinely lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to wearing required PPE while on the manufacturing floor.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience operating horizontal band saws and drill presses.
- Basic welding and tacking skills.
- Familiarity with both metric and imperial measuring systems.
Work Environment:
- Physically active role; indoor and outdoor settings
- Regular lifting of items up to 50 lbs.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to be comfortable wearing at the job:
- Metatarsal-guard boots
- Safety glasses
- Hearing protection
- Gloves (as needed)
