This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and is committed to accuracy and regulatory compliance.

The Customs Entry Writer plays a critical role in ensuring seamless import and export operations, maintaining compliance with U.S. Customs regulations, and supporting overall trade operations.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Onboarding & Compliance

• Prepare and process new customer onboarding packets for import/export activities.
• Ensure all documentation aligns with internal policies and sales agreements.
• Verify and validate Power of Attorney (POA) documentation to ensure regulatory compliance.

Documentation & Data Management

• Review and validate packing lists, commercial invoices, and Bills of Lading (BOLs) for accuracy and proper classification.
• Maintain and update client profiles in CargoWise, ensuring consistency with tariff structures and regulatory requirements.
• Track and manage monthly bond renewals, including billing considerations and termination handling for prior months.
• Maintain an organized account calendar, tracking compliance deadlines, address updates, and bond responses.

Financial & Reporting Duties

• Generate and analyze daily and monthly operational reports to support efficiency improvements.
• Process accounts payable invoices accurately, ensuring proper coding and documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in customs brokerage, logistics, or trade compliance completing Customs Entries (beyond entering into a database)
• Must be able to calculate tariffs and taxes.
• CargoWise experience is required.
• Strong working knowledge of customs entry processes, tariff classification, and compliance procedures.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to collaborate across clients, carriers, and regulatory agencies.
• Solid math and financial calculation skills relevant to customs brokerage operations.
