    Description

    HIGH-LEVEL OVERVIEW

    The Customs Brokerage Manager is responsible for all customs brokerage operations and the day to day operations of the department, leading a team and driving revenue growth while ensuring compliance with CBP rules and regulations

    This is an in-office position based in Houston, TX, Buffalo, NY, or Chicago, IL, with occasional travel for customer visits and meetings.

     

    EXPECTATIONS

    · Develop and implement brokerage strategies, driving operational effectiveness and revenue growth
    · Ensure compliance with all CBP rules and regulations
    · Review and file all required customs documentation within prescribed timeframes
    · Lead HTS classification under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTSUS)
    · Communicate with CBP and PGAs to resolve compliance issues, holds, and queries
    · Provide proactive status updates to customers, addressing inquiries with excellence service
    · Support the operations team with guidance and pricing support
    · Maintain accurate and complete records of all customs transactions
    · Monitor regulatory changes, best practices, and emerging trends in international trade
    · Manage and grow a high performing team through coaching and continuous development

     

    ESSENTIALS

    · Licensed US Customs Broker (LCB) required
    · Bachelor's degree preferred
    · 5+ years of customs brokerage or import operations experience leading a team of entry writers
    · Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and the import entry process; HTS, COO, valuation, FTA, etc.
    · Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
    · Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
    · Excellent communication with poised and professional attitude
    · Hands on knowledge of customs brokerage compliance software
