OverviewComplete a 4-12 week program (internal 4-6, external 8-12) in preparation of being assigned a department manager position. Travel within the division to train and provide relief. Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Achieve sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor/control all established quality assurance standards. Direct and supervise all functions, duties and activities for the department. Support the day-to-day functions of the Customer Service operations. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with associates and promote teamwork to help achieve company/store goalsEstablish performance goals for department and empower associates to meet or exceed targetsDevelop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume throughout hours of operationAdhere to all local, state and federal laws, company guidelines, and food safety regulationsCreate an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the storeDevelop and implement a department business plan to achieve desired resultsCreate and execute sales promotions in partnership with store managementInform and educate department associates about current, upcoming and special in-store promotions; stay current on present, future, and seasonal adsPrepare and submit seasonal critiques for the sales and merchandising supervisor, implement period promotional plan for departmentMaintain an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions; note any discrepancies in inventorySchedule daily, weekly and monthly price changes by updating shelf tags and promotional signsPlan, organize and supervise the inventory process; monitor/control expenses for the departmentTrain department associates on inventory/stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering (CAO)Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are maintained; reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify store managementPractice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notify appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repairReport all safety risks or issues, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraudSupervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reportsMust be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodationQualificationsMinimumExcellent oral/written communication skillsAbility to handle stressful situationsBasic math skills (i.e., counting, addition, and subtraction)DesiredHigh School Diploma or GED#J-18808-Ljbffr
