Carry a mid-market book of twenty to thirty accounts, fully remote from anywhere in the United States, and help shape how the customer success function runs.
The company
A well-funded, venture-backed software company whose product replaces a manual process that sits at the center of their customers' operation. The data it throws off is what the customer success team advises on, which is why this is a guidance seat rather than a support seat. This role sits in the mid-market segment.
Who thrives here
- People genuinely comfortable inside a large data set, who read an early churn signal before the client raises it
- Operators who pair that with real human touch, because these clients still get quarterly business reviews and still want a relationship
- People who think about AI at the level of the whole book, meaning which repeatable tasks across every account could be automated, not just which prompt saves them an hour
- People comfortable being wrong, trying something, and adjusting, because the operating model is being written right now
- Anyone who has worn several hats at a smaller company and does not need to be managed day to day
This is not a quiet remote seat. Remote here goes to people who are already running a book at a high level without daily supervision.
Why this seat
New headcount, not a backfill. The mid-market team is two people today and this hire makes three. You would report to a VP of Customer Success who came out of a global consultancy and is rebuilding the post-sale function right now, so the operating model is changing to make the customer success manager the end-to-end owner of the account rather than one link in a chain of handoffs. There is an experienced sales team that stays involved through onboarding, so accounts do not land on your desk cold.
What you will own
- A book of up to twenty to thirty mid-market accounts, smaller and faster moving than the enterprise segment
- Quarterly business reviews across that book, with an internal report generator already built and running to take the standardized prep off your plate
- Early churn detection and portfolio prioritization driven by the data rather than by whoever escalated most recently
- Renewal and account health outcomes across the segment
- Customers who want a real say in how the platform gets applied to their operation, which makes this a guidance job rather than a ticket job
- A share of the operating model and success metrics the function is standing up now
Remote, and what that actually means
Fully remote. Work from anywhere in the United States, in any US time zone, with no office requirement. The current team is already geographically mixed, so remote is not an experiment here. Plan on occasional travel to headquarters for team and client time, on the order of once a month or every other month. The bar for a remote hire is set deliberately high, because you will be carrying your book with real independence from the first month.
What we are looking for
- Three or more years owning customer relationships in enterprise software or professional services
- Comfort working across large data sets to manage a book of accounts
- Experience running structured client touch points such as quarterly or executive business reviews
- A consultative operating style rather than a sales-led one
- A track record of operating independently, since this is a remote seat on a team still defining how it works
Bonus points
- Experience serving customers in an operations-heavy industry
- A management consulting background, particularly implementation-heavy work rather than pure strategy
- Experience in business process design, outsourcing, or outsourced operations environments
- Hands-on use of AI tooling to automate recurring account reporting
Compensation and benefits
- $120,000 to $150,000
- Equity for every full-time employee
- Health coverage and flexible paid time off
- Fully remote anywhere in the United States, with occasional travel to headquarters
- Sponsorship is not available for this role
