Do you enjoy helping people, staying busy, and working in a fast-paced environment? Buche’s Gus Stop is looking for a friendly, dependable Customer Service Specialist to join our team! As a Customer Service Specialist, you'll greet customers, operate the register, stock merchandise, assist with food preparation, and help keep the store clean and organized. If you're hardworking, enjoy working with people, and take pride in providing great customer service, we'd love to meet you!
What You'll Do
Customer Service & Cash Handling
• Greet customers and provide friendly, helpful service.
• Process customer purchases and handle payments accurately.
• Answer customer questions and assist with product recommendations.
• Follow cash handling procedures and complete assigned shift reports.
• Address customer concerns professionally and communicate issues to management.
Stocking & Store Operations
• Stock and organize shelves, coolers, and merchandise displays.
• Keep products properly stocked and ready for customers.
• Assist with food preparation and safely operate food service equipment.
• Monitor food temperatures, product freshness, and record waste as needed.
• Help maintain a clean and organized store, both inside and outside.
Safety & Cleanliness
• Clean and sanitize counters, floors, restrooms, and other store areas.
• Keep the parking lot and outdoor areas free of litter.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Follow company safety guidelines related to fuel dispensing.
• Assist with additional store duties as needed.
What We're Looking For
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous convenience store, retail, food service, or customer service experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Food safety certification (ServSafe® or equivalent) preferred.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
Skills & Abilities
• Friendly, dependable, and customer-focused.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math and cash handling skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and take initiative.
• Willingness to learn and help wherever needed.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including shifts of up to 8–10 hours.
• Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working in coolers and freezers.
• Ability to safely operate store and food service equipment.
• Ability to work around cleaning products and occasional gasoline fumes.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
