Customer Service Specialist- International

Location: Tarrytown, NY | Hybrid: Tuesday-Thursday in office; Monday & Friday remote

Schedule: Full-time | 40 hours per week

Compensation: $60,000-$70,000 base salary

This role plays an important part in making sure international customer orders move accurately and efficiently from order entry through shipment, delivery, and invoicing. You'll work across customers, freight forwarders, warehouses, Sales, Operations, and other internal partners to coordinate international shipments, prepare required export documentation, resolve issues, and provide a high level of service to customers around the world.

In This Role, You'll Get To

  • Manage the order-to-invoice process for international customers, including manual order entry and order processing through the ERP system.
  • Coordinate international export shipments and work closely with freight forwarders, brokers, vendors, customers, affiliate offices, warehouses, Sales, Credit, Returns, Operations, and Planning.
  • Prepare and manage international shipping documentation, including CI, SLI, COO, COA, PL, BL, legalized documents, PODs, and other required country-specific documentation.
  • Track and expedite shipments, manage proof-of-delivery documentation, and support timely billing.
  • Work with the Warehouse on order cuts, exceptions, and shipment issues.
  • Partner with Sales and Operations/Planning to resolve out-of-stocks, discontinued items, shortages, and other order challenges.
  • Respond to customer and partner inquiries with accurate, timely updates and follow-through.
  • Ensure established processes, procedures, and daily deadlines are met.
  • Maintain accurate records and support additional projects and responsibilities as needed.
  • Work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment where organization, accuracy, and multitasking are essential.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 5 years of customer service and/or logistics experience in an international environment.
  • Hands-on knowledge of INCOTERMS, export shipping, international documentation, and country-specific shipping requirements.
  • Current working knowledge of an ERP system.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, including PivotTables, spreadsheets, and VLOOKUPs.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, manage frequent deadlines, and follow through in a high-volume environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across departments and with customers, freight forwarders, vendors, and other external partners.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business, technical, and regulatory information and communicate it clearly.
  • Ability to perform standard business calculations, including discounts, percentages, proportions, commissions, and other basic mathematical calculations.
  • Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills, including the ability to follow written, verbal, and diagrammed instructions and resolve issues involving multiple variables.
  • Comfort working in a professional office environment with regular computer use and sitting, frequent speaking/hearing, occasional standing/walking/reaching/bending/crouching, and occasional lifting or moving of up to 10 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
  • Must be able to work the hybrid schedule in the Tarrytown office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with Monday and Friday remote.

Preferred Qualification

  • SAP experience.
