Customer Service/ Administrative Assistant- Optical Office Support

Locations: Spring Valley, Monsey, and Monroe, NY

Schedule: 30-40 hours per week | 5 days per week | No Saturdays

Hours: Monday-Thursday 11:00 AM-8:00 PM (some flexibility available) and Sundays 10:00 AM-6:00 PM

Employment Type: Temporary with potential for permanent hire

Hourly Rate: $20-21 an hour- some flexibility depending on experience in the field.

Position Overview

We are seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support daily operations in a busy healthcare/optical office environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys providing excellent customer service, handling administrative responsibilities, and working in a fast-paced setting.

The position offers flexible scheduling and may be a great opportunity for a college student seeking part-time hours or someone looking for 30-40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, update, and process optical orders and payments

  • Assist with insurance verifications and authorizations

  • Maintain both electronic and paper filing systems

  • Perform general administrative duties including scanning, copying, filing, faxing, mailing, and data entry

  • Answer, screen, and direct incoming phone calls and emails

  • Process orders, payments, and customer inquiries accurately and efficiently

  • Assist management with special projects and administrative initiatives

  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and organizational information

  • Follow company policies, procedures, and compliance standards

  • Provide additional administrative support as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

  • Comfortable using computers and standard office software

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and solve problems independently

  • Strong attention to detail and customer service skills

  • Previous administrative, receptionist, medical office, or optical experience is a plus but not required
