Customer Service Representative / Dispatcher
$18.00 – $21.00/hr DOE
M – F, Day Shift (Flexible Hours) Occasional Saturdays & Overtime as Needed

A local ready-mix and distribution company in the Orange City, IA area is seeking a motivated Customer Service Representative / Dispatcher to join their team! This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys customer interaction, and can juggle logistics, scheduling, and communication with professionalism.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service via phone, email, and in person
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal teams
  • Support and promote a positive safety culture
  • Answer incoming calls, take and modify customer orders
  • Efficiently schedule and space orders to optimize truck usage
  • Adjust daily delivery schedules based on customer needs and real-time changes
  • Handle a high volume of calls professionally
  • Inform customers about value-added products and services
  • Utilize driver feedback to improve customer service
  • Collaborate with Sales and Admin teams for accurate project and order management
  • Track and document Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) daily
  • Assign trucks to loading/unloading areas and manage shipping documents
  • Verify shipments and follow up with customers
  • Complete call logs, reports, and handle C.O.D. orders
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred
  • 1+ year of dispatch/logistics experience
  • Local geographic knowledge of the Orange City, IA area for routing and scheduling
  • Client Services certifications a plus
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Basic math skills including fractions and decimals
  • Ability to read and provide accurate driving and site directions
