Customer Service Manager

Job Description/Tasks/Responsibilities Responsible for managing and meeting the customer’s overall transportation needs, exceeding their expectations, from the Request for Quotation (RFQ) stage through the final project completion including invoice processing. Physical/Mental Requirements and Working Conditions Ability to effectively communicate; speaking, reading, understanding, writing and hearing clear English; pass audiogram in hearing conservation program as required by location.

Job Description/Tasks/Responsibilities

• Responsible for managing and meeting the customer’s overall transportation needs, exceeding their expectations, from the Request for Quotation (RFQ) stage through the final project completion including invoice processing.  Manages customer projects, including schedule preparation and on-site project management.
• Assists in locating backhaul freight for return trips so trucks are not driven back empty.
• Interfaces with non-nuclear plant customers for transport service and equipment requirements.
• Interfaces with EnergySolutions Business Development and Sales personnel to provide transportation pricing and special quotes.
• Sets goals and objectives for transportation projects based on the customer’s needs.
• Manages subordinates at transportation projects.
• Manages compliance at transportation projects.
• Using multiple Logistics systems, monitors customer order loads to ensure equipment is not overbooked.
• Provides route planning for heavy haul shipments.
• Determines what type of equipment is required to service the customers based on current needs.
• Assists in preparing shipping letter for HRCQ (Highway Route Control Quality) and RAMQC (Radioactive Materials in Quantity of Concern) shipments.
• Helps locate and interview new company drivers and owner/operators to expand driver pool.
• Interfaces with outsource carriers to obtain shipment quotes/pricing.
• Develops and maintains sales and customer relationships.  Assists in outside sales to base accounts.
• Receives shipment information from base accounts as part of inside sales.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements/Skills

• Advanced computer skills (Excel/Microsoft Office)
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to interact effectively with customers and EnergySolutions personnel
• Ability to travel on short notice
• Intermediate project management skills
• Able to pass background check
• Transportation Management-Operations skills preferred

Physical/Mental Requirements and Working Conditions

• Certified radiation worker and forklift operator

 

Minimum Education, Experience and Certification Requirements
Education Associate's degree required	Certifications None required
Required Experience Minimum of seven years experience in the transportation industry	Preferred Experience Customer service experience
