Member Services Representative, Healthcare Support Specialist, Call Center Customer Service, CSR
Location: Houston, TX
Pay Rate: $19.69/hour
Start Date:September 15, 2026
Assignment Length:
3-month contract with potential for extension based on business needs and performance
Schedule: Monday through Friday, full-time daytime hours
Work Environment: 100% Onsite
Employment Type: Full-Time Contract Assignment
Important Interview Availability: Candidates must be available to interview onsite with the client on August 11, 12, or 13.
 
Build Your Healthcare Customer Service Experience
Are you an experienced customer service professional who enjoys helping people, solving problems, and providing exceptional support? We are seeking Member Services Representatives to join a fast-paced healthcare support team in Houston, TX.
 
In this role, you will serve as a primary point of contact for members, providers, and partners, assisting with questions related to healthcare benefits, eligibility, claims, prior authorizations, and general account support.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a high-volume call center environment and can confidently research issues, communicate solutions, and deliver a positive customer experience.
 
What You'll Be Doing
  • Handle inbound calls related to member benefits, eligibility, claims status, prior authorizations, and service concerns
  • Research and resolve claims-related inquiries by reviewing details, identifying issues, and determining appropriate next steps
  • Submit reconsideration requests and escalation documentation when needed
  • Work toward first-call resolution whenever possible
  • Accurately document customer interactions, account updates, and follow-up actions
  • Route inquiries electronically to the appropriate departments while maintaining accurate records
  • Collaborate with claims, eligibility, authorization, and operations teams to resolve member and provider concerns
  • Track recurring issues and communicate trends to leadership
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and follow all applicable privacy and internal service requirements
  • Deliver professional, courteous, and solution-focused customer service during every interaction
 
What We're Looking For
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years of customer service, call center, or contact center experience
  • 2+ years of healthcare-related experience supporting benefits, claims, eligibility, or authorizations are required
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong computer skills and accurate data entry abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Reliable and committed to working onsite in Houston
 
Preferred Experience
  • Healthcare plans, health insurance, or managed care
  • Claims review and claims status inquiries
  • Member eligibility verification
  • Prior authorization workflows
  • CRM and case management systems
  • Healthcare customer service platforms
  • Confidentiality, privacy, and compliance requirements
