Customer Programs Manager, Technical Delivery

Location: KS - Park City, KS

Compensation: $89,000 – $125,000.00 annually

A day in this role

Start your morning reviewing the master schedule, budget health, and technical milestones for multiple programs. You lead an internal stand-up with Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Planning, Buyers, Production, and Quality to sync on risks, resource needs, and build status. Before lunch, you’re the voice of the company on a customer review—walking through cost, schedule, and technical performance, and aligning on any contract changes. Your afternoon is a blend of shaping design concepts and integration/test plans with engineers, drafting proposal work statements and specifications, and completing monthly actual-to-budget reports to protect profitability. You close the day by unlocking solutions—reallocating resources or adjusting contractual specifications—and coaching cross-functional team members assigned to your programs across technical, manufacturing, and administrative areas.

What you’ll own

  • End-to-end accountability for program cost, schedule, and technical performance—from inception through completion.
  • Primary customer interface: lead program reviews and maintain clear, proactive communication on schedules and performance.
  • Contracting leadership: participate in negotiations for contracts and contract changes; coordinate proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets, and financial terms/conditions.
  • Program planning and control: establish milestones, monitor adherence to master plans, and rapidly resolve issues via resource reallocation or contractual/specification changes.
  • Engineering collaboration: shape design concepts and criteria; guide research, development, integration, and test efforts.
  • Business growth: develop new business and expand product lines within assigned customer accounts and programs.
  • Financial stewardship: complete monthly actual cost vs. budget analyses to detect off-plan conditions early and drive corrective actions.
  • Team leadership: direct the work of assigned personnel from technical, manufacturing, and administrative functions.

Your toolkit

  • Clear written and verbal communication; strong prioritization and multi-tasking.
  • Organizational awareness and the ability to operate as the liaison between Customer and Company.
  • Problem-solving strength and comfort with contracting/procurement fundamentals.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).

Background we value

  • 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment as a program manager or similar role.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in business or finance is highly desirable but not required.
