Role Overview:
  • Help new professional tax preparer clients set up and use a tax software suite during the initial post purchase phase.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact to ensure installation, account setup, data migration, and a smooth onboarding experience.
  • Deliver a positive first experience that supports long term customer retention and adoption.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Guide customers through software installation, initial configuration, and environment readiness.
  • Assist with account creation and secure documentation uploads, including EFIN or similar regulated credentials.
  • Support data migration by importing or exporting data from prior systems and validating successful transfer.
  • Communicate via phone, email, and web tools while sharing resources, walkthroughs, and documentation.
  • Coordinate onboarding workflows such as paperwork intake, entitlement checks, and access provisioning.
  • Manage training schedules, track completion, and ensure users have the right materials at the right time.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulated industry requirements during onboarding.
  • Maintain accurate records, tickets, and onboarding trackers to monitor status and follow ups.
  • Identify common blockers and escalate complex issues to technical or compliance teams with clear notes.
Must-Have Qualifications:
  • Three or more years in customer onboarding, customer success, or software implementation.
  • Strong technical aptitude to guide users through installation, setup, and basic troubleshooting with step by step clarity.
  • Hands on experience with account creation and regulated documentation uploads such as EFIN or comparable workflows.
  • Familiarity with data migration processes including mapping, import or export, and post migration verification.
  • Excellent communication skills using phone, email, and web tools with a customer first mindset.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple customers, priorities, and timelines concurrently.
  • Knowledge of compliance considerations related to taxation, finance, or similar regulated industries.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • High attention to detail with accurate documentation and recordkeeping.
  • Ability to troubleshoot independently and provide clear, repeatable guidance to end users.
Work Model & Logistics:
  • Contract duration is three to four months with a target start date of 12/1 or 12/8.
  • Pay rate is $25 per hour with no relocation assistance.
  • Industry is accounting with focus on onboarding professional tax preparers.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience coordinating onboarding paperwork and training schedules for users or internal staff.
  • Exposure to professional tax, accounting, or financial software environments.
  • Experience using CRM or ticketing tools for onboarding and customer success workflows.
