    Description

    The Customer Compliance and Deductions Manager ensures that the entire organization cross-functionally is aligned and complies with customer contracts and customers' vendor routing and compliance guides. The position is responsible for reviewing and disputing incorrect customer deductions supporting and leading. To train and educate all departments to reduce and eliminate preventable customer chargebacks.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide guidance and feedback for all new customer contracts/agreements in collaboration with SAMO (Sales and Marketing Organization) and Sales as it relates to risks for non-compliance and compliance deductions.
    • Keep track of customer specific agreements where customers agree to purchase custom products in specified quantities and time frame. Track sales and follow up timely and early to prevent product from sitting at our warehouses indefinitely. Ensure overall contract and agreement compliance on both customer side and Sabert.
    • Responsible for analyzing, investigating, validating, disputing and resolving customer deductions in collaboration with accounts receivable, customer service, transportation, warehousing, sales, SAMO and customers. Deductions related to service level penalties, on time and full rate deductions, short and over claims, damage claims, late delivery fines, routing guide violations, freight chargebacks (excludes pricing and rebate discrepancies).
    • Determine deduction and claim validity and prepare disputes.
    • Manage customer vendor and routing guides databases and submit requests for repayment through customer portals or other means in collaboration with the finance department (AR).
    • Maintain customer specific deduction and recovery metrics and track recoveries, write offs and prevention opportunities.
    • Identify recurring customer compliance issues and provide preventive steps and measures.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
    • Prior experience with deductions, chargebacks, AR and claim experience.
    • Experience with ERP systems, SAP strongly preferred.
    • Strong Excel skills including pivot tables and vlookup/xlookup, AI based analysis
    • Experience with customer portals and pushing back on wrongful deductions
    • Strong communication skills, comfortable working with and addressing senior leaders of different departments at Sabert and our customers
