Job Title: Customer Care RepresentativeJob Description

The Customer Care Representative serves as a primary point of contact for customers, handling inquiries via phone, email, and internal systems while ensuring accurate and timely order processing. This role collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to support order fulfillment, communicates order and shipment details, and resolves service issues professionally. The position focuses on maintaining accurate customer records, supporting customer-specific requirements, and contributing to service and performance goals within a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary contact for customer inquiries through phone, email, and internal systems.
  • Process customer orders accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring all details are complete and correct.
  • Coordinate with Production, Planning, Shipping, and Quality teams to support order fulfillment and on-time delivery.
  • Communicate order status, lead times, and shipment updates to customers clearly and proactively.
  • Address and resolve customer concerns, discrepancies, or service issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, order documentation, and correspondence in internal systems.
  • Support customer-specific requirements, including labeling, documentation, and delivery instructions.
  • Assist with customer returns, claims, and corrective action follow-up when required.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Support the organization in achieving established service and performance goals.
  • Contribute to departmental metrics related to customer satisfaction, responsiveness, on-time performance, and service quality.

Essential Skills

  • 2-3 years of customer support or customer care experience, preferably within the food, flavor, fragrance, or related industries.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle inquiries and issues professionally via phone, email, and internal systems.
  • Proficiency in data entry with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience using customer relationship management (CRM) systems such as SAP, NetSuite, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with multiple departments, including Production, Planning, Shipping, and Quality.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear customer and internal communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • High school diploma (HS Diploma) or equivalent.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working with customer-specific requirements such as specialized labeling, documentation, and delivery instructions.
  • Familiarity with processing customer returns, handling claims, and supporting corrective action follow-up.
  • Comfort working with departmental metrics related to customer satisfaction, responsiveness, on-time performance, and service quality.
  • Interest in ongoing training and development to build a long-term career within a customer-focused organization.

Work Environment

The role is primarily based in a cubicle office setting, working closely with multiple departments and teams such as Production, Planning, Shipping, and Quality. You will use phones, email, and internal CRM systems (including platforms like SAP and NetSuite) to manage customer interactions and orders. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carteret, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
