Akkodis is seeking a Custom Software Engineer for a Contract with a client in Washington, DC (Remote). The ideal candidate will design, develop, and enhance custom software solutions while collaborating across teams to deliver scalable, high-performing applications using agile development practices.
Rate Range: $60/Hour to $65/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Custom Software Engineer Job Responsibilities include:
Design, develop, and enhance custom software solutions using Java and IBM WebSphere to meet business requirements.
Build and maintain scalable, high-performance applications following Agile development methodologies and best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, troubleshoot issues, and deliver effective technical solutions.
Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to key technical decisions that improve system reliability and performance.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members while promoting a collaborative and productive work environment.
Identify complex system challenges and implement innovative solutions to optimize application efficiency, scalability, and stability.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with Java and IBM WebSphere development.
Strong experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise-grade applications using Java and WebSphere technologies.
Experience working in Agile environments, with strong collaboration, client communication, and problem-solving skills.

Pay Details: $60.00 to $65.00 per hour
