District Job Posting Custodian- Night Shift Ramapo High SchoolApplication Deadline: October 5, 2026 ~ Anticipated ~ Reports to: Coordinator of Facilities and Operations or designeeDescription: The district is seeking a full time Custodian for the night shift at Ramapo High School, with hours from 3pm to 11:30pm.Responsibilities:Keep assigned areas of the building neat, clean, and safe.Follow work schedules and temporary work schedules assigned by the Building Foreman and/or Principal of the school.Check regularly the security of the building and ensure that all exit doors are operational and that all panic hardware is working.Working cooperatively with other custodial employees during emergency operations.Remove trash and recyclables daily and comply with all laws, regulations and procedures for the storage, disposal and or collection of trash, waste, and recyclables.Maintain an adequate supply of cleaning chemicals requesting replacements in a timely fashion. Store supplies and chemicals in a safe and approved manner.Receive deliveries to the building. Move furniture, equipment, supplies, and deliveries as necessary and requested, in a safe manner.Make recommendations for improvement in the effectiveness and efficiency of custodial operations of the school.Other duties as may be assigned.Qualifications:Hold a Black Seal Boiler Operator License or be able to obtain within one (1) year of employmentHold a valid Drivers License and hold a valid commercial driver's license (or be able to obtain within one (1) year of employment) with no serious violations and with endorsements necessary to carry school children in school buses equipped with air brakesHave a minimum of one (1) year of previous work related experienceClean driving record and ability to pass federal/state background checks, fingerprinting, and drug/alcohol screeningKnowledge of safe driving practices and school bus operationAbility to check regularly the security of the building and ensure that all exit doors are operational and that all panic hardware is workingExperience in custodial/maintenance work preferredStrong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude when working around students and staffCompensation: In accordance with the RIHEA Agreement, currently from $58,131 to $73,922 plus a differential of $750 for holding a Black Seal License.
