ABOUT EL CAMINO COLLEGE El Camino College (ECC) is located on the ancestral lands of the Gabrielino -Tongva people, the traditional caretakers of Tongvaangar (the Los Angeles basin, Southern Channel Islands) and occupies 126 -acres near Torrance, California. Dust and polish furniture and woodwork. Empty and clean waste receptacles. Clean restrooms, wash windows and walls, clean blackboards/whiteboards. Polish metal work. Maintain equipment and materials. Assist in cleaning kitchens and snack bar equipment. Assist in moving and arranging furniture and equipment, set up auditorium or classrooms for special events or meetings. Adjust shades and blinds; adjust desks and other related furniture. Clean and pick up paper on grounds and courts. Assist maintenance crews performing painting, carpentry or other maintenance work as assigned. Performs related duties as assigned. JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: Any combination equivalent to: sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed above and six months of custodial work experience. OTHER DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge and Abilities: • Basic methods of cleaning and preserving floors, walls, and fixtures. • Basic cleaning materials, disinfectants and equipment used in custodial work. • Common cleaning tools and their uses. • Safe work practices. • Safe and proper use and storage of hazardous and toxic substances. • Learn assigned schedule, procedures and use of tools used in custodial work. • Use common electrical cleaning equipment. • Perform physical labor. CLOSING DATE: WEDNESDAY , SEPTEMBER 9 , 2026 A T 3:00 P.M. SALARY: Starting salary is $4,375 per month. Generally, new employees start at the first step on the salary schedule. Advanced salary placement may be considered on a case -by-case basis. Salary increases are granted on the first day of the month following each year of service, until Step F is reached ($ 5,590 monthly) . Employees contribute 8% of their earnings toward the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS). CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT This is a full -time, twelve- month classified position subject to a probationary period. The standard work week is 40 hours of scheduled duty per week of not more than five consecutive workdays . Working hours will be in -person, Monday through Thursday 10:00 p.m. until 6:30 a.m. and Fridays 4:00 p.m. until 12:30 a.m. Schedule may vary to include hours outside of the normal work schedule and weekends depending on operational need.
