Custodian Job Description

Client Profile- A nonprofit community service center.

Job Summary- The custodian reports to the office manager and the building custodian; responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the building and the surrounding grounds including vacuuming floors, sanitizing restroom facilities and collecting trash.

Job Duties

·         Ensure that the building and facilities are clean and presentable for use by the public and staff.

·         Clean and sanitize the Childcare facility to meet state regulations and guidelines.

·         Perform minor grounds work around the campus.

·         Arrange furniture and equipment for meetings and special events

·         Perform cleaning tasks in restrooms, offices and outside areas such as sweeping, scrubbing, dusting, disinfecting, shampooing empty waste containers.

·         Maintain clean linens and washable items throughout the organization

·         Keep a detailed inventory of all products and items.

·         Reporting damages and failed equipment to Office Manager

·         Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

·         High School Diploma or equivalent

·         Valid Driver’s License preferred but not required

·         Favorable criminal history background check

·         Ability to pass a physical abilities test and TB screen

·         Ability to lift excess of 50 pounds

·         Experience in performing custodial duties

·         Hours: M-F 11am to 8p

·         Pay: up to $17.00 hourly, competitive insurance and benefits and incentives
