Custodian

Job Responsibilities 

• Cleans offices, production areas, locker rooms, and other work areas according to departmental procedures, to include vacuuming, mopping, removing trash and garbage, washing windows, dusting furniture, filling dispensers, etc. 

• Monitors cleaning supplies, notifying supervisor of low inventories. 

• Assists with maintaining the grounds, performing snow removal and yard work as assigned. 

• Completes and maintains all required paperwork, records, documents, etc. 

• Follows and complies with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintains departmental housekeeping standards. 

• Transports trash and waste to disposal area. 

• Operates custodial equipment (i.e. floor sweeper, lawn mower, etc.) as required. 

Job Skills Requirements    

•  Ability to read and interpret facility procedures and policies.  

• Proficiency with hand tools and custodial equipment.    

Educational Requirements    

• High School Diploma or equivalent education and experience.    

Experience Requirements    

•  Some prior maintenance experience preferred but not required.  

Physical & Environmental Requirements    

• Some physical demand. Often lifts light to heavy-weight material. Frequent lifting/moving average weight (up to 50 lbs/11-27 kgs) material.    

• Ability to perform occasional to frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling, and/or reaching over a full work shift (8-12 hours).    

• Ability to operate motorized vehicles over a full work shift (8-12 hours).    

• Ability to stand and / or walk constantly over a full work shift on concrete (8-12 hours).    

• May be exposed to noise levels for which hearing protection must be worn over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
