    Position Summary:

    The School Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment within the school. This role ensures that classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and other school facilities are sanitary, organized, and well-maintained to support a positive learning environment for students and staff.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, offices, hallways, cafeterias, and other areas as assigned.
    • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors and surfaces regularly.
    • Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste according to school policies.
    • Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies; report any maintenance issues promptly.
    • Assist with setting up and taking down furniture or equipment for events and activities.
    • Perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance tasks as needed.
    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
    • Report security issues, hazards, or unsafe conditions to the appropriate personnel.
    • Assist in snow removal, lawn care, or other seasonal duties if required.
    • Respond to emergency cleaning requests promptly (spills, accidents, etc.).

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
    • Previous custodial or janitorial experience is a plus.
    • Knowledge of cleaning supplies, equipment, and techniques.
    • Ability to lift and move heavy objects safely.
    • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and safety.
    • Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
    • Flexibility to work after school hours, weekends, or during school events if necessary.

    Working Conditions:
