The basic function of this position is to perform custodial duties as required for daily operation, scheduled events and activities on campus. The custodian position reports to and takes direction from the Shift Lead Custodian, Facilities Services Supervisor and the Director of Buildings, Grounds and Events.


Responsibilities

Coordinate and maintain cleanliness of facilities at the campus in such a manner that the best possible image of the college is presented at all times.

Coordinate and complete furniture moves and event set-ups as required.

Monitor custodial supply inventory and request additional stock as required and verify all inventory is kept in a neat and orderly manner in your assigned area.

Coordinate extra cleaning/set-ups as required due to special needs at the campus as directed.

Perform cleaning tasks as required to make up for missing staff members, unusual conditions, and emergencies.

Handle all emergency situations during the shift to minimize damage to people, buildings, and content and to ensure the security of the campus. Inform Lead Custodian, Facilities Services Supervisor and/or Director of Buildings, Grounds and Events immediately of any emergency.

Identify and report maintenance problems on campus to the Lead Custodian, Facilities Services Supervisor and/or Director of Buildings, Grounds and Events.

Member of the Snow Crew assigned to coordinate snow and ice removal for access roads, sidewalks.If not on the exterior snow crew will be assigned to interior cleaning coverage for snow crew members during winter months.

Other duties as assigned.
