SUMMARY:
This position has the opportunity to interact heavilywith our students on a daily basjs in their common living areas, hallways, lounges, etc. They will help support student life as well .as events on campus. This role will primarily be responsible to ensure clean and sanitary conditions for common student residential spaces.
WAGE: $13.26-$14.28
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The custodial staff maintains building appearance and cleanliness in all areas; lobbies, entrances, · classrooms, offices,hallways, kitchens, conference rooms, staircases, study lounges;restrooms, and shower rooms.
- Custodial duties will consist of but not limited to:
- Unlock/lock building and turn on/off lights
- Sweep
- Mop
- Vacuum
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of trash
- Clean glass
- Dust surfaceareas
- Disinfect fixtures
- Annual deep cleaning
- Assist with set-upsfor campus events
- Snow removal
- Maintain outsideentrances year round
- Recycling
- Clean restroomand show-room facilities
- Floor care
- Other dutiesas assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- If this particular positionis a lead position, you will provide guidance and organization to other team members in your building
- You may be asked to direct studentand support studentworkers•
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and SKILLS:
Education:
High School diploma and/or equivalent preferred but not required
Training on blood borne pathogens and proper procedures for clean up on hazardous/infectious materialsaccording to OSHA specifications (see supervisor for more information) will be required
Experience:
Must be detailedorientated and ha.vegood time management and organizational skills.
Basic computer knowledge and operation
Proven ability to work with others
Must be able to read sufficiently to follow instructions, ability tomix appropriate chemical dilution ratio and understand directions for use.
Ability to cultivateand develop inclusive and equitable workingrelationships with students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, and friends of the college
PHYSICAL DEMANDSand WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Mobility: walk or stand for extended periods of time
- Lifting: ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
- Dexterity: musthave a full range of motionincluding bending, stretching, lifting, and kneeling.
- Be available for scheduled shift
- Overtime may be required
- Inside and outside of buildings, spaces may or may not be air conditioned
- Exposure to potentially hazardous chemicals, noise, dust and fumes
- Required to work in restricted places which may requirestooping, bending and kneeling
