    Responsibilities

    Custodial Positions

    • Wage: $14.39/hour

    • Full-time and part-time positions available

    • Day/Evening/Night shifts available

    • Background check, drug screen, and proof of employment eligibility required

    • Location: Clemson University

    POSITION SUMMARY
    The goal of the Custodian is to provide superior cleaning quality in an assigned area to maintain a clean working environment.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Report to the Supervisor, AD, or Director for work scheduling.
    • Record work completed on the area assignment checklist.
    • Respond to Campus Manager requests and new work tickets.
    • Perform daily cleaning procedures following HHS training videos and policies in assigned areas.
    • Police assigned an area at the beginning of each shift.
    • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor, AD, or Director.

    TOOLS & EQUIPMENT

    • Micromop and loop mop
    • Chemicals in properly labeled bottles
    • High duster and dusting cloths
    • Microfiber rags
    • Vacuum
    • Scrubbing pads
    • Bucket and wringer
    • Cart (housekeeping/linen)
    • Putty knife

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Able to lift 0 – 50 lbs. frequently.
    • Able to walk up and down stairs safely.
    • Capable of pushing and pulling a maid cart or various equipment (0 - 100 lbs.) on tile and carpeted floors continuously throughout a shift.
    • Must be able to handle/interact with all chemicals used (i.e., bleach, wax, VIREX, etc.)
    • Capable of standing, walking, squatting, bending, twisting, kneeling, and reaching continuously throughout a shift.
    • Capable of pushing and pulling furniture and equipment (25 – 100 lbs.) frequently.
    • Can move with flexibility and turn the head side to side.
    • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and evening hours as needed per assigned area.
    • Capable of lifting furniture and equipment (25 – 100 lbs.) frequently.
    • Must have communication skills in English (reading, writing, speaking).

    Reports To: Assistant Director or Director of Custodial Services; Director of Facilities; or Director of IFM  

    Work Environment: K-12 or higher education campuses – primarily indoor settings
