Custodian

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

• Custodial Responsibilities 

  • Clean and sanitize offices, restrooms/showers, dining areas, laundry areas, common spaces, and shelter dorm areas. 

  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish floors and surfaces. 

  • Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste properly. 

  • Clean windows, doors, walls, and other building surfaces. 

  • Restock restroom and janitorial supplies. 

  • Follow cleaning schedules and infection control protocols. 

  • Operate floor scrubbers, carpet extractors, buffers, and other custodial equipment. 

  • Daily setup of seating and dining area at our Day Service Center 

  • Set up and break down rooms for meetings, trainings, and special events. 

  • Assist with moving furniture and equipment. 

  • Plunge or snake toilets/drains as needed 

  • Support emergency clean-up following weather events or other facility incidents. 

  • Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and damaged equipment promptly. 

• Groundskeeping Responsibilities 

  • Maintain lawns, landscaping, flower beds, shrubs, and trees. 

  • Mow, edge, trim, weed, mulch, and water landscaped areas. 

  • Remove litter and debris from parking lots, sidewalks, courtyards, and outdoor spaces. 

  • Perform seasonal grounds maintenance including leaf removal and snow/ice treatment when applicable. 

  • Clean exterior entrances, walkways, loading docks, and outdoor gathering areas. 

  • Assist with beautification projects to improve curb appeal
