    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • None (No Diploma or Degree Required)

    High School Diplomas and college/university degrees must be obtained from an accredited program or university approved by the United States Department of Education and the Texas Education Agency.

    PRIMARY PURPOSE SUMMARY:

    Maintain athletic facilities in a clean, safe, attractive, and event ready condition for students, staff, parents, community members, and visitors. Support the successful operation of athletic competitions, district events, and community activities by ensuring athletic venues, locker rooms, stadiums, and surrounding facilities reflect the North East ISD standard of excellence.

    ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Maintains the cleanliness and appearance of athletic facilities, including stadiums, gymnasiums, locker rooms, weight rooms, athletic offices, restrooms, concession areas, press boxes, and surrounding areas.

    2. Cleans and maintains athletic venues and exterior areas, including sidewalks, parking lots, spectator seating, entrances, athletic courts, fence lines, and common areas to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.

    3. Prepares facilities for athletic contests, graduations, district meetings, employee functions, community events, and other special events by setting up and removing tables, chairs, barricades, equipment, signage, and other event related items.

    4. Performs routine custodial and light maintenance duties, including painting, replacing light bulbs, installing dispensers, and reporting facility repair needs.

    5. Uses safe and proper work/cleaning techniques including the usage of all inside power equipment needed to support

    Program.

    1. Maintains and properly uses personal protective equipment Reports all accidents to the Head Custodian.

    2. Assists with special projects, duties, as requested/assigned by the Head Custodian and/or facility administration.

    3. Works collaboratively with athletic staff, facility personnel, and event managers to ensure facilities are clean, safe, secure, and event ready.

    4. Maintains confidentiality of information.

    5. Reports to work on time every day.

    6. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    • Successful completion of a pre employment physical examination
    • Knowledge of minor repair techniques and building and grounds maintenance
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
    • Ability to understand instructions and communicate
    • Ability to lift 100 pounds with assistance
    • Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies
    • Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required for athletic events.
    • Ability to work independently while maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and professionalism.
    • Strong customer service skills when interacting with students, staff, and visitors.

    TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

    • Basic Training Provided by North East Independent School District (NEISD)
    • Training provided by head/ Assistant Head Custodians as required throughout the year

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Additionally, the individual must pass a pre employment physical examination to include vision, hearing, alcohol and drug testing. Employees are required to wear all protective equipment when operating machinery or for heavy moves.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is frequently required to work in a confined space. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
