Custodian (7829)

Schedule/Hours: Tuesday - Friday, 9:00am to 3:00pm, 25 hours/week

This position is responsible for:

Cleans and maintains the buildings and grounds to ensure the neatness and cleanliness of the same on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of buildings and grounds through daily housekeeping and custodial duties.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms, kitchens, offices, common areas, laundry areas, and other assigned spaces.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, and wax floors; clean windows; and dust and polish furniture and fixtures.
• Perform laundry duties, including washing, folding, and storing shelter laundry and linens, and regularly empty and collect trash.
• Assist with meeting room setups, groundskeeping, opening and closing the building, and other related duties as needed.

Physical Requirements and Conditions:

Work is performed in a normal office environment with some exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt and dust, and/or disagreeable sights and odors.

Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.

Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and climbing.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

No formal education required,

six months experience performing general custodian/janitorial duties,

or

any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

Valid State driver's license may be required.
