IRVING ISDCUSTODIAN JOB DESCRIPTION
Primary Purpose: Clean and maintain district facilities using routine procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of building operations and grounds.
Qualifications: Education: Certification: High School Diploma or GED preferred
Special Knowledge: Skills: Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures Aptitude for successful completion of tasks Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy equipment Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies Ability to work well with others Knowledge of minor repair techniques and building and grounds maintenance Ability to speak and read English Bilingual in Spanish preferred
Experience: Cleaning experience preferred

Environment Work outside and inside on slippery or uneven walking surfaces, frequent exposure to hot and cold temperatures and humid conditions, electrical hazards, dust, toxic chemicals and materials, noise, and vibration, work around moving objects and vehicles, ladders, scaffolding, pallet jacks, and lift equipment, occasional irregular and/or prolonged hours
