SUMMARY OF POSITION
Under direct supervision, the purpose of this position is to provide a clean, safe and comfortable workplace for City employees and Towne Lake Recreation Center patrons. The position is responsible for cleaning offices, bathroom and locker room facilities, meeting rooms and classrooms, grounds, and performing minor repairs. This position is also responsible for daily room set-up and break-down. Performs related work as required.

Required Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Six months (6) of related experience (i.e. janitorial) required. Must have the ability to read, understand and follow written directions as well as to follow oral directions. Must have the ability to pass a post-offer physical examination. A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
Any work related experience resulting in acceptable proficiency levels in the above Minimum Qualifications is an acceptable substitute for the above specified education and experience requirements.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Tasks involve the ability to exert heavy physical effort in heavy work, with greater emphasis on climbing and balancing, but typically also involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds); may occasionally involve heavier objects and materials (up to 100 pounds). Some tasks require visual and odor perception and discrimination.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
There is limited exposure to environmental conditions. Task may require exposure to strong odors and/or smoke, traffic hazards, extreme heat/cold or extreme weather conditions.
