Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Custodial Worker 1 to perform custodial and facility-cleaning duties. The selected candidate will support daily cleaning and maintenance activities and may serve in a lead capacity under the direction of a supervisor.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Minimum 1 year of custodial work experience
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to operate standard custodial equipment and tools
- Ability to perform physically demanding cleaning and maintenance activities
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a lead custodian and perform leadership tasks assigned by the supervisor
- Operate custodial equipment including:
- Floor washing machines
- Buffers
- Vacuums
- Other cleaning equipment
- Sweep, mop, scrub, strip, wax, and buff floors by hand or machine
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including:
- Showers
- Toilets
- Sinks
- Floors and walls
- Mirrors
- Trash receptacles
- Clean offices, classrooms, and other facility areas
- Dust furniture and vacuum or shampoo carpets
- Wash walls and windows
- Empty trash and maintain clean, organized work areas
- Inspect grounds, pick up trash, and identify maintenance needs
- Maintain simple records and prepare routine reports regarding facility deficiencies and required materials
- Perform light maintenance on custodial equipment
- Assist with training new custodial workers
- Perform other custodial and facility-related duties as assigned
Background Verification
The selected candidate will be required to successfully complete a TBI/FBI background check and fingerprinting, including:
- Tennessee and Federal criminal history checks
- Child abuse records check
- Employment verification
- Professional and personal reference checks
