POSITION SUMMARY Supervise daily custodial operations, train and schedule custodial personnel, oversee and inventory supplies, conduct general cleaning and custodial duties, and coordinate and provide general facilities maintenance and repairs. Work hours will be 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES Custodial Management and DutiesResponsible for scheduling, assigning, and performing daily work routines.Discuss all safety issues, provide proper personal protective equipment and train employees on safety-related issues. Provide on the job training for new employees regarding every phase of their job, which includes equipment and chemical usage. In addition, provide continuing training using on the job coaching methods for current employees. Supervise custodians on a daily basis with regard to quantity and quality of work. Inspect all assigned areas frequently to ensure that service is meeting quality standards and work is being done that is on the checklists. Schedule and supervise all custodial projects (refinishing floors, painting, deep cleaning, etc.)Advise IT and Facilities Supervisor when standards are not being met and disciplinary action may need to be taken in a timely matter. Facility Management Management of equipment and agency assets.Establish cleaning supply inventory and ordering of all necessary cleaning supplies and equipment.Communicate effectively regarding work requests and any other element of the job.Coordinate and provide assistance for building emergencies (such as fire/flood clean-up, snow/ice removal, etc) during and after working hours.Coordinate relocation of items from Wood River and Granite City sites to storage unit and shredding of dated documents.Advises the IT and Facilities Supervisor on the condition of CYHS's buildings/property by conducting regular inspections and reporting any needed repairs.Vendor RelationsCoordinate all work order requests for repairs and other maintenance requests from supervisory staff to include arranging vendors for issues that are beyond the capabilities of staff.Coordinate with vendors and monitor general facilities repairs of HVAC, Fire & Burglar Alarm, plumbing, electrical and kitchen equipment.Manage and arrange for any moving needs to including scheduling professional movers. Meet and speak to individuals when they arrive to perform building inspections. Additional Duties and Responsibilities Maintain and prepare all required records and correspondence.Review and recommend improvements to processes associated with areas of responsibility. Participate in staff meetings, conferences, training sessions and workshops as assigned.Demonstrate familiarity with policies, performance standards and the agency's Mission, Vision and Core Values. Be a contributory team member in a positive/productive manner.Perform other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONSMinimum of four years of experience in custodial services required.Two years of supervisory experience preferred.Knowledge of cleaning procedures, equipment and supplies is required.Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment with a diverse group of people.Ability to manage multiple projects and see them through to completion.Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed.
