    The Custodial Manager Swing Shift provides effective leadership, oversight, and development to a night shift custodial services unit that is responsible for the regular care and cleaning of University residence halls. This position is an essential member of the Operations leadership team and will be required to respond to emergencies after hours or during times the University is closed. This position has been designated as essential personnel during inclement/hazardous weather and other emergencies.

    The hours for this position are Wednesday through Sunday from 4:00am-12:30pm. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the department.Primary Duties Include

    • Lead daily and long-term planning for routine and project cleaning.
    • Use industry best practices (ISSA ) to improve efficiency and service quality.
    • Supervise staff, including training, development, coaching, and the EPMS process.
    • Respond to emergencies, weekends, and hazardous weather as part of an on-call rotation.
    • Ensure quality assurance (QA) inspections are completed and properly documented.
    • Conduct monthly inspections of supplies and equipment to assess condition and needs.
    • Track performance and provide monthly reports on factors affecting work quality and productivity.
    • Submit maintenance work orders, review their status weekly, and follow up on incomplete items.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

    • Position requires a thorough knowledge of the custodial services business, with emphasis in safety practices as it pertains to relevant areas of employment.
    • Knowledge of business management practices, personnel management, planning problem solving and conflict resolution are essential.
