The University of Tennessee at Martin Somerville Center is currently accepting applications for a part-time(25 hours per week) custodian, maintenance and security associate.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or the equivalent.
- Six months of relevant experience, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to operate maintenance equipment
- Ability to understand and carry out routine oral and written instructions
- Ability to make routine decisions independently
- Ability to use cleaning equipment and chemicals
- Ability to work well with others
- Ability to take direction and sustain long periods of light to moderate heavy physical activity.
- Must possess working knowledge of light-duty maintenance issues (ex., changing light bulbs, painting, etc.).
- Must have a good work and attendance record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience and knowledge of custodial equipment, to include operation and safety.
- Experience and knowledge in the use and safety of cleaning chemicals.

Minimum hiring rate is $14.25 per hour (Market Range 03). Salary commensurate with education and experience.
- Performing various custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe environment for faculty, staff, students, and visitors.
- Managing supplies, including receiving, stocking, and maintaining inventory.
- Setting up and taking down for special events.
- Cleaning floors, windows, walls, and other assigned areas.
- Managing trash control and emptying trash containers.
- Performing groundskeeping and building maintenance duties.
- Operating maintenance equipment such as mowers.
- Securing and unlocking the center and providing safety support
- Reporting safety concerns to the immediate supervisor.
- Completing work orders.
- Assist with basic technology support and serve as IT support facilitator, as needed.
- Performs other duties as directed.
