Job Description:
Chick-fil-A at Shepherdstown Crossing is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the Kitchen Culinary Supervisor/Shift Leader position in the Back of House (BOH). This is a supervisor position leading a team of culinary food service workers. This person must be caring, friendly, have a genuine heart to serve others, be highly organized, and have the ability to multitask and work efficiently. The Culinary Supervisor is the supervisor/shift leader leading shifts of 7 to 10 team members and reporting directly to the BOH Manager and/or Director. This “hands-on” supervisor opportunity is designed to give you a career in the most highly esteemed restaurant chain in the nation.
The Culinary Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all operational activities associated with the kitchen areas of the restaurant. The Culinary Supervisor/Shift Leader executes daily excellence across a full spectrum of activities at the operational level. This supervisor maintains the standard for “Operational Excellence” in the kitchen and leads by example while mentoring and developing other BOH Team Members, Team Leaders and Trainers.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older
- Ability to work full-time, year-round
- Ability to troubleshoot, problem solve, and make quick decisions on a daily basis
- Has a heart for coaching, developing, and serving others
- Experience leading teams and producing positive results
- Ability to meet the demands of a busy, fast-paced, complex business
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Customer service oriented
- Proven leadership skills
- Desire to grow and be developed as an individual and as a leader
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work on feet for at least 9 hours
- The ability to open and/or close the restaurant and availability to work Fridays and Saturdays
Responsibilities:
- As a member of the Leadership Team, the Culinary Supervisor/Shift Leader will work with other members of the leadership team to deliver high quality food for our guests
- Maintain a work environment that ensures and promotes food safety & team safety.
- Ensure food quality is maintained to Chick-fil-A’s standard
- Engage with Team Members and guests to create remarkable experiences and a welcoming environment.
- Assist in training and development of BOH team members to Chick-fil-A standards
- Ensure all necessary preventative maintenance and cleaning are completed as scheduled
- Responsible for leading the shift by preparing fresh and great tasting food in a timely manner
- Maximize food quality while working to minimize food waste
- Be able to perform in and train on every operational job in the BOH/kitchen.
- Among other responsibilities that may be assigned, the Shift Leader is required to work “hands on” in the kitchen as needed to support the team.
Pay Type:
- Hourly, commensurate with experience and work availability
- Premium pay for full-time closing shifts

Education/Experience:
- Must have a strong understanding of kitchen operations
- 1+ years of experience in a kitchen/culinary leadership role, preferably in a fast food or quick service restaurant
- ServSafe Certification (preferred but not required)
