    Description

    The Culinary Services Coordinator is responsible for providing a total quality dining experience for our residents. This includes a thorough understanding of our menu and daily specials, proper serving guidelines, cleanliness expectations, and special diets. They ensure an efficient workflow for our waitstaff, and promote a culture of service excellence. Complies with federal, state, and local standards for community operation. Incorporates the Generation’s Mission, Vision, and Values in their daily work and interactions with others. 

    SCOPE OF JOB TASKS:

    • Oversees operation of the dining room.
    • Ensures servers are completing their assigned job duties before the end of their shift
    • Coordinates scheduling of parties and events; help with set up, and take down
    • Develops and maintains server schedules
    • Establishes and enforces safety, sanitation, and proper food handling standards for dining room
    • Resolves food complaints timely and appropriately
    • Partners with, trains, and directs daily workflow of servers
    • Assess the quality and efficiency of the servers and provide necessary coaching
    • Provides a high level of customer service and promote a restaurant style dining atmosphere
    • Assists in serving duties, as needed

    • Participates in regular Culinary team meetings and review resident comment cards/feedback to improve quality and operational efficiency for the dining room
    • Ensures meals are served at proper temperature and maintain an attractive appearance and appealing taste
    • Supports adherence to quality assurance processes by assisting with routine auditing of service in the dining room
    • Assists with set up and cleanup of parties and events
    • Other duties as assigned

    JOB SPECIFICATION:

    Education:

    • High school diploma or GED is required

    Experience:

    • Previous experience in both restaurant and/or senior living highly desired
    • Supervisory experience highly desired

    Qualifications:

    • Current Food Handler’s Permit
    • Certification in CPR and First Aid
    • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

    Stairs - occasional, but not required

    Kneels - seldom

    Lifts - often, up to 25lbs

    Supervision:

    • This position has responsibility for supervising waitstaff. 

    Working Conditions: 

    • May be exposed to hot, humid, sometimes dangerous conditions such as fire, chemicals, hot water, hot equipment, knives, etc.
    • May be exposed to slippery floors and strong odors
    • May be subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, etc.
    • Required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
