This role is designed for an experienced food-and-beverage professional who combines a strong understanding of culinary production, pastry and dessert presentation, premium beverages, and elevated front-of-house service. The Culinary and Service Specialist will help deliver exceptional dining experiences for local, national, and international guests across high-end restaurant, private dining, VIP, tasting-menu, chef-led, and special-event settings. The successful candidate will serve as a key link between the kitchen, pastry, bar, and dining-room teams, ensuring that food, desserts, beverages, and tableside experiences are presented with precision, knowledge, consistency, and hospitality. The role requires the ability to understand chef-driven menus, explain culinary preparations and premium beverage selections, make thoughtful food-and-beverage pairing recommendations, support refined plated-dessert and tableside presentations, and uphold the service standards associated with a luxury hospitality brand. Core Responsibilities Guest Experience and Culinary Service - Deliver refined, attentive, and personalized food-and-beverage service to guests in a luxury restaurant and hospitality environment.
- Present and explain chef-driven dishes, menu components, ingredients, preparation methods, plated desserts, special offerings, and premium beverage selections in a clear, engaging, and accurate manner.
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations on food, wine, champagne, cocktails, aperitifs, spirits, digestifs, and after-dinner beverages based on guest preferences, flavor profiles, dietary restrictions, and the desired dining experience.
- Support curated food-and-beverage pairings, chef’s tasting menus, premium tasting-style experiences, private dining, VIP tables, special occasions, and special-event service.
- Perform polished tableside service and presentation, including the introduction and service of signature dishes, desserts, beverages, and select chef-led culinary experiences.
- Support pastry and dessert presentation by ensuring that restaurant desserts are delivered, described, and presented in accordance with culinary standards and the company’s luxury-service expectations.
- Anticipate guest needs, respond professionally to special requests, and provide discreet, detail-oriented service to VIP, celebrity, corporate, private-event, and international clientele.
Service Coordination and Operations - Coordinate closely with chefs, pastry personnel, bartenders, sommeliers or beverage leadership, servers, managers, and support staff to ensure accurate timing, quality control, service flow, and presentation standards.
- Assist in maintaining consistent service sequencing, including course pacing, beverage timing, table maintenance, guest communication, and timely resolution of service needs.
- Ensure that dining-room, table, service-station, and bar-service areas are properly prepared, organized, stocked, clean, and ready before, during, and after service.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of current menus, seasonal dishes, dessert programs, beverage lists, wine and champagne selections, cocktail offerings, ingredients, allergens, and company service standards.
- Support inventory control, product availability, stock rotation, service-equipment organization, and responsible handling of food-and-beverage products.
- Assist with training, coaching, and alignment of front-of-house personnel on culinary knowledge, dessert presentation, premium beverage service, tableside standards, and luxury guest-experience expectations.
Beverage Knowledge and Pairing - Demonstrate strong working knowledge of wine, champagne, premium spirits, cocktails, aperitifs, and after-dinner beverages, including familiarity with French and European wine regions and producers.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef, Sommelier, beverage leadership, and front-of-house management to support thoughtful food-and-beverage pairing recommendations and consistent guest communication.
- Engage confidently and accurately with discerning guests regarding wine styles, regions, producers, vintages, flavor profiles, menu compatibility, and pairing philosophy.
- Support wine-service standards, curated beverage programs, premium tastings, special events, and exclusive beverage experiences.
Brand Standards and Service Improvement - Partner with the General Manager, Executive Chef, Sommelier or beverage leadership, and senior front-of-house personnel to support cohesive execution of the company’s exacting luxury-service standards across all guest touchpoints.
- Support real-time resolution of guest concerns and service-recovery needs in coordination with management, while maintaining composure, polished communication, sound judgment, and a professional presence.
- Serve as a visible yet discreet ambassador of Mr. Hospitality Group’s brand values, luxury-service standards, and guest-centric philosophy in all interactions.
- Maintain impeccable grooming, posture, and professional demeanor, while consistently modeling the company’s expected front-of-house presentation and service standards.
- Share meaningful guest feedback, service observations, and post-service insights with management to help identify opportunities to refine the VIP and luxury guest experience.
- Follow all applicable food-safety, sanitation, responsible alcohol-service, workplace-safety, and company policies and procedures.
- Represent Mr. Hospitality Group with professionalism, discretion, cultural awareness, teamwork, and a consistent commitment to exceptional hospitality.
Required Qualifications - 3+ years of progressively responsible experience in upscale restaurant, luxury hotel, beach club, fine-dining, VIP dining, premium bar, private-dining, or high-end hospitality operations.
- Mastery of French fine dining service standards and European luxury hospitality protocols
- Experience with tableside presentation, private dining, tasting-menu service, chef-led service, or premium multi-course dining experiences
- Advanced beverage knowledge, including wine, Champagne, and pairing principles (formal certification strongly preferred)
- Exceptional emotional intelligence, cultural fluency, and discretion
- Demonstrated ability to perform with consistency and composure in high-pressure, high-visibility environments
Preferred Qualifications - Formal education, vocational training, certification, or diploma in culinary arts, pastry arts, hospitality management, food-and-beverage operations, restaurant management, or a related discipline.
- Training or practical experience in French culinary production, French pastry, restaurant desserts, plated-dessert presentation, or sugar-art techniques
- Prior experience assisting with staff training, menu education, service-standard implementation, or coordination of front-of-house teams.
- Proficiency in French and English, with Spanish-language skills preferred.
