CT Technologist

Pay Rate: $68 per hour - $79 per hour

Summary:

• 4 Days per week/10 hours

Responsibilities:

• Utilize appropriate kV and mA techniques to ensure quality diagnostic CT images.
• Perform daily quality control calibration checks on all equipment to ensure proper calibration before any patient study.
• Inject patients with radioactive material as per the physician’s order following the prescribed protocol.
• Observe all department documentation policies by filling in all appropriate logs, manuals, and charge documents.
• Report equipment problems to comply with regulatory agencies.
• Perform quality control, quality assurance, and safety tests. Follow radiation safety guidelines to comply with ALARA principle.
• Maintain and develop patient films and electronic data for Radiologist interpretation.
• Order patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses 1-day prior to use.
• Receive radiopharmaceutical on the day of delivery and verify proper receipt as per policy and procedure. Verify activity level of the dose prior to administration.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an AMA/J.CERT approved program in Radiologic Technology.
• Cardiac CT experience.
• CPR/BLS Certification.
• New York State License (L.R.T).
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT and Current CT Certification).
• NYS IV Certification from ARRT.

Preferred Skills:

• Perform CT procedures according to the prescribed protocols to ensure uniformity and accuracy.
• Exercise appropriate judgment to assess and respond to patient’s needs prior to, during, and after visits in the Radiology department.
