    Job Title: CT Technologist – Evening Shift
    Location:
    White Plains, New York
    Pay: $52.04–$62.88 per hour, based on experience, education, shift differentials, and other relevant qualifications
    Schedule: 
    Alternating weekends and holidays

    • 4:00 p.m.–12:00 a.m.
    • 4:30 pm - 12:30 am
    • 11:00 pm - 7:00 a.m

    Hours: 75 hours per pay period
    Employment Type: Permanent, Direct-Hire Position
    Sign-On Bonus: $15,000

    Position Summary

    A hospital-based CT department in White Plains, New York, is seeking a skilled CT Technologist for a permanent evening-shift position. The technologist will perform high-quality CT examinations, support physicians during procedures, maintain imaging and radiation-safety standards, and provide compassionate care to patients across the lifespan.

    This position is ideal for a dependable imaging professional who can manage a busy clinical workload, respond to emergency procedures, and work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, transport staff, and other members of the imaging team.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Prepare and position patients correctly for CT examinations according to established protocols.
    • Review imaging orders and complete required patient questionnaires and image documentation.
    • Produce technically accurate and diagnostically complete CT images.
    • Evaluate completed examinations for image quality and completeness.
    • Explain procedures to patients and family members while confirming identity using two patient identifiers.
    • Provide appropriate care for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
    • Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures as needed.
    • Follow established protocols for IV contrast, oral contrast, stroke imaging, and emergency procedures.
    • Process images and prepare imaging CDs when requested.
    • Document patient and examination information in Epic, the radiology information system, and PACS.
    • Perform New York State and American College of Radiology quality-assurance testing and equipment calibrations.
    • Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked examination areas.
    • Identify malfunctioning equipment and report concerns to senior staff or biomedical engineering.
    • Communicate supply needs to department leadership.
    • Coordinate with patient transport when examinations are complete.
    • Participate in staff meetings, continuing education, and departmental in-services.
    • Serve as an instructor or preceptor when assigned.
    • Follow all radiation physics, radiation-protection, patient-safety, and departmental standards.
    • Provide emergency, on-call, overtime, holiday, or alternate-shift coverage when required.

    Requirements

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Completion of an accredited radiography certificate program, hospital-based program, or allied health education program.
    • Current New York State Department of Health Radiologic Technologist license or limited permit upon hire.
    • ARRT registration as a Radiologic Technologist with Radiography and/or CT certification, or current NMTCB certification.
    • Documented education and experience operating CT equipment.
    • Knowledge of radiation physics and radiation-protection practices.
    • American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification within 90 days of hire.
    • New York State Department of Health IV certification within 180 days of hire.
    • Ability to obtain advanced ARRT CT certification within one year of hire when not already certified.
    • Ability to work Monday through Friday from 4:00 p.m. to midnight.
    • Availability for alternating weekends and holidays.
    • Ability to provide emergency, on-call, overtime, day, evening, or overnight coverage when needed.
    • Ability to maintain required continuing education credits.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or a related allied health field.
    • At least two years of imaging experience.
    • Current ARRT certification in Computed Tomography.
    • Current New York State IV certification.
    • Experience working in a hospital-based CT department.
    • Experience using Epic, radiology information systems, and PACS.
    • Experience assisting with CT-guided or other physician-led procedures.
    • Previous experience serving as a clinical instructor or preceptor.

    Orientation and Certification Expectations

    During orientation, the selected technologist will complete the American College of Radiology's Image Gently and Image Wisely radiation-dose pledges. These requirements must be completed before the end of the six-month probationary period.

    Candidates who do not already hold advanced CT certification must pass the ARRT CT examination within one year of their hire date.
