Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs all CT Scan studies; obtains patient history, explains routine procedures and addresses patient concerns. Prepares and maintains written documentation as required by the profession and the department. EHR proficiency Under the direct supervision of the physician, administers intravenous contrast media. Recognizes complications (e.g., contrast reaction) and treats appropriately.
- Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.
- Positions and transfers patients comfortably, Immobilizes patients as necessary and practices radiation safety procedures.
- Preforms all basic to advanced CT examinations, reconstructions and Cardiovascular CT imaging.
- Independent workstation proficiency
- Preceptor/Trainer with students and/or new technicians/technologists as needed.
- If necessary, will take call to meet the needs of the department. On call requirements are defined separately by each hospital.
- Survey Readiness preparation/teaching, policy, and procedure training.
- 4C/Standard Work assistance
- Equipment knowledge and trouble shooting
- Mentor for CT Technician, CT Tech I, and CT Tech II
- Delegation skills, provides leadership role in absence of Lead Tech, Interdepartmental Involvement/assignments.
