    Job Title: CT / Diagnostic Technologist
    Location: Council Bluffs, Iowa
    Schedule: Full-Time | Night Shift | 7:00 PM–7:30 AM

    This position follows a repeating three-week night-shift rotation

    • Week 1: Monday, Friday, Saturday
    • Week 2: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday
    • Week 3: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

    Pay Range: $29.35–$47.00 per hour
    Sign-On Bonus: Up to $15,000
    Call/Holiday Requirement: Rotating
    Benefits: Full-time benefits eligible

    Job Overview

    A healthcare organization in Council Bluffs, Iowa, is seeking a CT / Diagnostic Technologist to join its Imaging team on the night shift.

    The technologist will perform both CT and diagnostic X-ray examinations, producing high-quality images while maintaining patient safety, comfort, and appropriate radiation protection. This role requires strong technical skills, knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, and the ability to work effectively with patients across a range of ages, including pediatric patients.

    Experienced CT Technologists are encouraged to apply, and qualified CT board-eligible technologists may also be considered.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform diagnostic CT examinations according to established protocols
    • Perform routine diagnostic radiographic examinations as needed
    • Prepare and position patients correctly for CT and X-ray procedures
    • Review physician orders and verify the appropriate examination
    • Select appropriate imaging parameters and exposure factors
    • Produce high-quality diagnostic images
    • Review completed images for technical quality and completeness
    • Administer contrast agents according to established protocols and scope of practice
    • Monitor patients during and after contrast administration for potential reactions
    • Recognize and respond appropriately to adverse contrast reactions
    • Apply radiation-safety principles to minimize unnecessary exposure
    • Provide clear explanations of procedures to patients and family members
    • Ensure patient comfort, dignity, and safety throughout each examination
    • Provide age-appropriate imaging care, including care of pediatric patients
    • Maintain CT and radiographic equipment and report equipment issues as needed
    • Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team
    • Manage multiple imaging priorities in a fast-paced clinical setting
    • Participate in call and holiday rotations
    • Perform other imaging-related responsibilities as assigned

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program
    • ARRT registration in Radiography – RT(R)
    • Current Iowa Medical Radiographer license or appropriate state license for the work location
    • Strong knowledge of CT imaging principles and cross-sectional anatomy
    • Ability to perform diagnostic radiographic examinations
    • Strong patient-positioning and technical imaging skills
    • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workflow
    • Ability to work effectively with pediatric patients
    • Ability to participate in call and holiday rotation

    CT Certification

    Candidates may qualify through one of the following pathways:

    • Current ARRT certification in Computed Tomography – RT(CT), or
    • Completion of required CT clinical training with CT board eligibility

    CT board-eligible technologists may be considered with the expectation that ARRT(CT) certification is obtained within 12 months of hire.

    New technologists who require additional clinical training to become CT board eligible may also be considered, with advanced CT certification required within 12 months of completing the necessary clinical training.

    BLS

    • American Heart Association BLS is strongly preferred at the time of hire
    • BLS must be obtained within 3 months of hire

    Preferred

    • At least one year of CT Technologist experience
    • Graduate of an approved CT or MRI program
    • Current ARRT(CT) certification
    • Previous hospital-based CT experience
    • Experience performing both CT and general diagnostic radiography
    • Pediatric imaging experience
