    POSITION OVERVIEW:

    We are seeking a Convenience Store Lead Cook to join our team. This role is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting on-site food items while maintaining food safety, cleanliness, and quality standards. The ideal candidate has experience in quick-service or convenience food preparation, works well in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering great food and customer service.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Prepare and cook food items according to company recipes, yield guides, and quality standards.
    • Ensure all food is cooked to proper temperatures and handled safely.
    • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and food prep areas.
    • Follow proper food storage, labeling, and first-in, first-out rotation procedures.
    • Stock ingredients and supplies and assist with inventory checks as needed.
    • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
    • Maintain working knowledge of all food products and menu items.
    • Provide friendly and efficient customer service when interacting with guests.
    • Transport supplies from storage areas and stock in designated locations.
    • Process requisitions correctly and place items in appropriate areas.
    • Organize prep items to ensure readiness for service.
    • Assist with training new cooks as assigned.
    • Complete daily cleaning tasks to meet health and sanitation standards.
    • Comply with all company policies, safety procedures, and health department regulations.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area at all times.
    • Assist with Porter duties as assigned, including stocking, cleaning, sanitation, and other general store support duties.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    • Previous experience in cooking, food service, or a related field preferred.
    • Knowledge of kitchen equipment and basic cooking techniques.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes.
    • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to work well as part of a team.
    • Working knowledge of food safety, health, and sanitation standards.
    • Professional appearance and demeanor.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

    Ability to obtain and maintain all licenses, certifications, and permits required for the position.

    • Valid State-Issued Food Handler Certification or Card for the state in which you will be working
    • Alcohol Awareness Card may be required based on assigned location and business needs.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    Ability to read, understand, and communicate in English, including safety rules, operating procedures, and verbal instructions.

    REASONING ABILITY:

    Ability to apply common-sense understanding to follow instructions and solve routine problems involving multiple variables in a standard kitchen environment.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    The physical demands listed below are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of the job:

    • Ability to stand for extended periods.
    • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
    • Ability to stoop, bend, reach, lift, wipe, and perform repetitive motions without assistance.
