Overview:
Apogee is actively seeking a COMSAT Watch Office Analyst to support the USSF. This position provides technical and engineering support services to the Commercial C-SSE Watch Office. This work shall include technical engineering services to support technical analysis, plans, and operations to C-SSE staff and customers.
This is a full-time located in Bldg 400 at Schriever Space Force Base (SFB) in Colorado Springs, CO.
START DATE WILL BE JULY 13TH
Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering services for transmissions management and control for all commercial frequency spectrums to include all Commercial satellite systems that are in use.
- Assist with development, review, update and revision of Commercial SATCOM related policies, procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure documentation is technically accurate, consistent, and usable by operations personnel, and shall incorporate Government feedback within established timelines.
- Monitor COMSATCOM systems health, status and potential threats (e.g. Commercial SATCOM Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI) reports, Collision Avoidance (COLA) reports, Notices to Space Operators (NOTSOs), and vendor status messages via applications on NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and AFSCI).
- Provide technical and operational inputs, system configuration and operational mission support
- Provide troubleshooting assistance for Regional SATCOM Support Centers (RSSCs) and SATCOM terminal owners.
- Create and publish applicable reports, including SATCOM Event Messages.
- Collect and maintain knowledge base on commercial satellite constellation coverage and status
Qualifications:
Minimum Experience:
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Clearance: Minimum of a TS and ability to obtain SCI required
Certification: Security+ Certification (or other DoD 8140.01 compliant cybersecurity certification)
Education: HS Diploma with 9 years or Bachelor's with 4 years relevant experience
Additional Experience:
- (1) year of demonstrated relevant experience or education in communication principles and SATCOM theory
- Knowledge of commercial satellite communications systems and capabilities, delivery methods and employment methods
- (3) years of experience as a SATCOM manager, controller, communications planner, or network operations in a military or commercial enterprise environment.
- Demonstrated relative knowledge of intelligence capabilities, processes, and tasking mechanisms necessary to support Government efforts for performance of SATCOM Interference tasks.
**Equivalent SATCOM-specific experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis**
