C# Software Engineer III (Modern .NET Core)

Our client, a global leader in advanced autonomous and robotic solutions across multiple industries, is seeking a C# Software Engineer III to join a highly technical, architecture-driven engineering team. This role works across large, multi-tier application ecosystems supporting both desktop and web applications and is responsible for building scalable, maintainable solutions using C# and modern.

Location : Longmont, CO (hybrid schedule, 3x/wk onsite)
Target Start Date : ASAP
Long-Term Contract (2-3 years)
Pay Rate : $60.00-$70.00 (DOE)


 

Our client, a global leader in advanced autonomous and robotic solutions across multiple industries, is seeking a C# Software Engineer III to join a highly technical, architecture-driven engineering team. The C# Software Engineer III develops and supports complex, enterprise-scale software applications within a highly technical, architecture-driven engineering environment. This role works across large, multi-tier application ecosystems supporting both desktop and web applications and is responsible for building scalable, maintainable solutions using C# and modern .NET. The ideal candidate understands software architecture and system design—not just implementation—and brings strong fundamentals in object-oriented programming, application architecture, data access, and performance optimization.  Exposure to programming in Rust is a big plus.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using C# and modern .NET/.NET Core.
• Contribute to complex, multi-tier application architectures supporting desktop and web environments.
• Apply object-oriented design principles and established architectural patterns to build scalable, maintainable systems.
• Implement and leverage dependency injection and modern software design practices.
• Develop data-driven applications using SQL Server, Entity Framework, and related ORM technologies.
• Participate in system design, architecture decisions, technical evaluations, and performance improvements.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across multiple application layers and drive solutions through resolution.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop reliable, high-quality software.
• Contribute to code reviews, technical documentation, testing, and continuous improvement of development practices.

 
Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with C# and modern .NET/.NET Core.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles.
• Hands-on experience with dependency injection and modern application architecture.
• Strong experience with SQL Server and application/database interaction.
• Experience with Entity Framework or comparable ORM technologies.
• Practical understanding of multi-tier and distributed application architectures.
• Experience developing and supporting complex, enterprise-scale software applications.
• Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts, design decisions, and architectural tradeoffs.

 
Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing desktop applications in addition to web-based applications.
• Familiarity with MVC and modern software architecture patterns.
• Experience with C++ or other systems-level programming languages.
• Exposure to or experience with Rust, particularly in systems programming, performance-sensitive applications, or integration with other application technologies.
• Experience developing software for real-time systems, embedded devices, robotics, or other technically complex platforms.
• Experience working within large, highly modular application ecosystems with numerous interdependent projects.
• Familiarity with distributed systems, asynchronous programming, or performance optimization.

• Has experience building and supporting large, complex software systems.
• Brings deep knowledge of software engineering fundamentals beyond framework-specific experience.
• Is comfortable discussing system design, scalability, maintainability, performance, and technical tradeoffs.
• Demonstrates strong technical curiosity and a willingness to learn new technologies, including systems-level languages such as Rust.
