We are seeking an experienced Industrial Gas & Cryogenic Equipment Service Technician to join our service team in Houston, Texas. This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, reconditioning, and repair of low-temperature, high-pressure cryogenic and industrial gas equipment.
The successful candidate will bring strong hands-on mechanical and technical expertise, the ability to work with precision tools and equipment, and experience across multiple maintenance or craft disciplines. This is a hands-on role requiring flexibility, teamwork, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Install, assemble, troubleshoot, fit, test, recondition, and repair components used in cryogenic and industrial gas equipment.
Read, interpret, and work from complex mechanical drawings, parts diagrams, and assembly drawings.
Use precision tools, measuring instruments, and specialized equipment to complete repairs and maintenance activities.
Perform TIG welding and brazing as required for applicable equipment and piping systems.
Conduct vacuum-related work and utilize mass spectrometer equipment for testing and leak detection.
Perform electrical testing, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial gas equipment and installations, as qualified.
Safely operate and work with cranes, rigging equipment, and lifting systems associated with industrial and cryogenic equipment.
Diagnose equipment issues and complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
Manage multiple service activities and priorities while meeting project requirements and deadlines.
Communicate professionally with customers regarding project status, service activities, and repair progress.
Maintain accurate and detailed electronic records of inspections, repairs, testing, and work performed.
Support coworkers and contribute to a collaborative, safety-focused service environment.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Technical, vocational, or college-level education in a relevant mechanical, welding, industrial maintenance, or technical discipline.
Strong mathematical and computer skills.
Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings, schematics, parts drawings, and assembly instructions.
Proficiency with precision measuring tools and equipment.
Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with customers, coworkers, and management.
Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driver-insurance requirements.
Strong teamwork skills with a positive, dependable, and committed attitude.
Ability and willingness to learn new equipment, processes, and technologies.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, establish priorities, and provide direction to coworkers when required.
