Are you ready to lead by doing?

Picture this: You arrive on shift, review the production plan with the Crude Clay Supervisor, and immediately roll up your sleeves. You align your crew’s tasks, double-check inventory with quick cycle counts, and make sure every Nav transaction is in the system so materials flow without a hitch. When a piece of equipment needs attention, you coordinate maintenance, keep the team moving with hand tools and vehicles, and ensure shipments are packaged exactly to procedure. You’re the on-the-floor coordinator who trains others, documents the process, and keeps leadership informed—an entry-level leader building a strong foundation for a manufacturing career.

Your mission

  • Plan, oversee, and participate in Crude Clay Division operations as a working leader under the immediate supervision of the Crude Clay Supervisor.
  • Train assigned personnel, provide daily work direction, coordinate schedules/activities, and coach computer operations.
  • Assist the Supervisor with daily production and reporting; operate a computer to process reports/forms and manage inventory.
  • Write clear work instructions to document processes; maintain records and prepare reports.
  • Perform cycle counts on materials (labels, boxes, cartons, etc.) and maintain appropriate stock levels.
  • Operate equipment and vehicles; use a variety of hand tools; arrange and execute maintenance/repairs as needed.
  • Process requisitions for supplies; prepare merchandise for delivery; package shipments per established procedures.
  • Report production output/activities and present information to management.
  • Complete all necessary Nav transactions to keep the department running effectively; document Note to Files for HR.
  • Collaborate with other departments to meet schedules and production goals; fill in for the Supervisor when required.
  • Other duties as assigned, including cross-coverage for:
  • All duties of Job #30 (Bulk Handling Operator)
  • All duties of Job #03 (Mix Operator)
  • All duties of Job #22 (Material Handler)

What it takes

  • Understanding of modern manufacturing and inventory control; orderly storage and space utilization.
  • Knowledge of departmental materials, equipment, supplies, and record-keeping practices.
  • Commitment to safety: proper lifting, housekeeping, and working near moving machinery.
  • Interpersonal savvy with tact, patience, and courtesy; effective written and verbal communication.
  • Math agility (add, subtract, multiply, divide quickly and accurately) and comfort with computer terminals.
  • Documenting ability for processes, inventory, reports, and HR Note to Files.
  • Ability to establish cooperative, effective working relationships; meet schedules and timelines; work autonomously.

Work conditions

  • Standing, sitting, and walking through the shift; frequent bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
  • Use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulation; requires speech, vision, and hearing.
  • Lift/carry/push/pull up to 75 pounds (and higher with assistance).
  • Exposure to hot environments, marked changes in temperature/humidity, dust, fumes, and gases.

Who you are

  • Reliable, with regular attendance and a customer-service mindset.
  • Adaptable, detail-oriented, and proactive; set high work standards.
  • Collaborative team player who can also thrive independently.

Minimum qualifications

  • Entry-level role—high school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Candidate will be required to go through the interview process as well as provide an updated resume.
  • In order to be considered for this position, candidates MUST submit a resume to HR if they desire to be setup for an interview. Only signing this job posting DOES NOT qualify you for an interview for this position.
  • Demonstrated leadership; able to work with employees at all levels; strong people skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency and the ability to learn AMACO products and systems; capable of completing Nav transactions.
  • Read, understand, and comply with Bills of Material and Processing Instructions.
  • Excellent organization and time management; multi-tasking and decision-making within Team Leader scope.
  • Comfortable presenting information to management.
