Franklin Public Schools is seeking an Elementary Cross Categorical Special Education Teacher beginning the 26/27 school year.

Complex Needs/ Alternate Standards Focus

We are seeking a passionate, student-centered, and collaborative Elementary Cross Categorical Special Education Teacher to support students with complex learning, behavioral, communication, and/or adaptive needs, including students receiving instruction aligned to alternate academic standards. The ideal candidate will foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment while implementing individualized programming designed to maximize student independence, growth, communication, and access to grade-level school experiences.

This position requires a compassionate educator who values strong relationships, teamwork, high expectations, and individualized supports to help all students thrive academically, socially, emotionally, and functionally.

Preferred Qualifications & Characteristics:

• Effectively supervise, coach, and collaborate with paraprofessional staff to ensure consistent implementation of supports and programming.
• Knowledge of alternate achievement standards, functional academics, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), sensory regulation strategies, and individualized behavior supports preferred.
• Strong commitment to inclusive practices and belief in the potential of every learner.
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, interventionists, therapists, paraprofessionals, specialists, and families to ensure meaningful inclusion and coordinated support.
