    POSITION PURPOSE

    Serves as member of the Department of Anesthesiology leadership team. Responsible for day-to-day leadership of the Nurse Anesthetist team. Provides 24/7 accountability for patient care delivery. Responsible for day-to-day operations, scheduling, staff assignments, break and lunch relief plans for the anesthetist team. Participates in and supports patient care delivery each day. Collaborates with the Department Chair, Director of Anesthesia and Department Manager (Department Leadership Team) to achieve the departmental goals and objectives. Responsibilities are administrative and clinical.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Clinical:

    Maintains clinical knowledge and skills to be able to staff entire case, provide breaks and respond to emergencies Assumes responsibility for performance of job duties in the safest possible manner and to report all preventable hazards and unsafe practices immediately to management Provide daily oversight for Anesthesia Technicians Identifies equipment needs, broken and replacement needs

    Administrative:

    Leads day to day operational needs of the CRNA team by arriving at 6:45 am to facilitate changes in CRNA assignments as a result of cancellations, add-ons, call-ins etc.

    Reviews and approves daily schedule changes

    Collaborate with Lead roles at other sites to facilitate movement and sharing of CRNA resources

    Provides feedback, coaching and mentoring on clinical performance of staff Responsible for stewardship of staff, supplies and equipment. Represents/ stands in for Department Manger as delegated or as needed In collaboration with Department Manager

    Participates in Standout as a Champion

    Participates in clinical standards, policy and procedure review

    Participates in interviews of potential candidates

    Facilitates planning for LOA coverage as needed

    Facilitates completion of the yearly vacation schedule within the department PTO guidelines

    Strong leadership skills including collaborative, open and respectful communications, physically present and approachable, organized and constructive problem solving skills Maintains the confidentiality of information acquired pertaining to patient, physicians, associates, and visitors to Trinity Health System. Discusses patient and hospital information only among appropriate personnel in appropriately private places Behaves in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of Trinity Health.

    OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Performs other duties as assigned.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE

    Education: Requires a bachelor's degree in Nursing. Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Anesthesiology.

    Experience: 3 years' experience as a CRNA

    Licensure: CRNA certification, ACLS, PALS, RN License, Annual BLS recertification

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    • Knowledge of computerized documentation, basic Microsoft word skills, excel
