A regional medical center in Independence, MO is seeking a Critical Care ICU Clinical Pharmacist to deliver advanced clinical pharmacy services within the intensive care unit setting.
The role. The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist functions as a subject-matter expert in critical care, attending and actively participating in daily multidisciplinary and bedside rounds alongside physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team. Core clinical responsibilities include monitoring drug therapy regimens for contraindications, drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, allergies, and appropriateness of drug and dose, as well as providing consultation and suggesting cost-effective therapeutic alternatives to medical staff. The pharmacist participates in clinical programs such as antimicrobial stewardship, pharmacokinetics, anticoagulant monitoring, pain management, IV-to-PO conversion, and renal dosing, and maintains controlled substance records in alignment with diversion prevention and monitoring standards. This role also carries an educational dimension — serving as preceptor and resource for pharmacy students, residents, technicians, nurses, and physicians, and contributing to committee work as a liaison between pharmacy and other clinical or quality bodies.
What we're looking for.
Schedule. Primarily day shift, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, with rotating weekends on an every-fourth-weekend basis.
Compensation. $52.58 - $70.55/hr plus $2 sign-on bonus
