Preferred Skills/Experience: Antepartum and mother-baby experience is highly preferred for L&D travelers.

Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. The facility may make one-off exceptions if previously employed at the facility, but exceptions must be approved by St. Luke’s Health System. We try to block schedule but cannot guarantee it.
Unit Details: Nurse-to-patient ratios include ER: 1:4, Med-Surg: 1:5, Tele: 1:4, Peds: 1:3, and NICU: 1:4. Meridian ER has no trauma, while Boise ER receives pediatric trauma. Nampa generally has lower-acuity ICU patients. NICU travelers will generally be assigned feeder-grower patients. Nurses in ICU, ER, Tele, Med-Surg, and PICU will be required to titrate drips. Insulin is a common titratable or set-rate drip in Med-Surg. ICU, ER, Tele, and PICU nurses must read and interpret telemetry/monitor readings.
Shift & Scheduling: No self-scheduling. Weekends as needed. Holiday coverage may be required as needed. No call.
Floating Requirements: The float pool includes ER, ICU, Med-Surg, Tele, L&D/PP, and NICU at facilities in Boise, Meridian, and Nampa. RNs will only float within their specialty and will never float to a lower-acuity unit; however, they may float to any facility to serve as a 1:1 sitter in any area. Travelers are first to float and may float mid-shift, at any time during the shift, to different units and facilities whenever there is a need. Travelers will see their assigned hospital and unit in an app 1 hour before the shift starts. All float hospitals are about 20 minutes apart.
